A nearly four-hour standoff between an emotionally disturbed Queens man and police ended tragically when the subject was found dead from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, authorities said.

Officers arrived at the apartment on 68th Street in Glendale at around 6:40 p.m. after the 31-year-old man’s wife called police to say she received text messages from him threatening to kill himself, cops said.

The man fired one shot at cops but didn’t hit anyone. Officers didn’t return fire.

When they entered the apartment after 10 p.m., they made the grisly discovery.
