An 81-year-old community activist will serve as the interim chair of the Queens Democratic Party, it was announced Thursday.

Crowley had been the party boss since 2006.

Bunch, who is black, is a community activist from Hollis and a longtime party district leader.

“I love June. She’s respected in the political world. I’m proud to have her represent us as the chair of the Queens Democratic Party,” said Councilman Rory Lancman, who is vying to become the next Queens district attorney.

The Democratic Party is in flux amid shifts in a borough bursting with new immigrants. A larger share of the population is now Asian and Hispanic.
