A Queens high-school junior is fighting for his life after collapsing in class today, authorities said.
The 16-year-old student was in English class at Benjamin Cardozo High School on 223rd Street in Bayside when he collapsed around 12:55 p.m., police said.
“I saw him on the floor with kids all around him,” said Josie Hurst, 15. “He was smart. Very nice. Kind of quiet.”
Emergency workers performed CPR on the teen and rushed him to Long Island Jewish Hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition, officials said.
I was not immediately known what happened to the child. Cops said the boy has no previous medical history.
