A whiz kid from Queens prevailed in the Scripps National Spelling Bee last night, after coming in third the past two years.

Arvind Mahankali won the Spelling Bee after correctly spelling “knaidel,” the Yiddish word for dumpling.

The 13-year-old from Bayside beat out 11 other finalists after more than two hours of a high- pressure competition that included words such as “cyanophycean” and “dehnstufe.”

Arvind will return home from Oxon Hill, Md., with $30,000 in cash and prizes.

He said he would study physics this summer now that he’s “retired” from the Spelling Bee.
