A woman died after a fire broke out at a Queens home Tuesday night, fire officials and sources said.
The woman was on the first floor of the home on 219th Street near 89th Avenue in Queens Village when flames tore through the house at about 11:15 p.m., the FDNY said.
Firefighters responded within minutes, but the woman could not be saved, authorities said.
She was declared dead at the scene.
About 60 firefighters battled the blaze and extinguished it shortly after they arrived.
The cause of the fire was under investigation early Wednesday morning.
