If Mayor Bloomberg wants Cathie Black to run New York’s schools, that’s good enough for City Council Speaker Christine Quinn.

After meeting with The Post editorial board yesterday, Quinn refused to join the chorus ripping the controversial choice of the Hearst Magazines president, who has no experience working in education.

“Mayoral control gives the mayor the authority,” Quinn reasoned. “He chose Joel Klein, who I think did a terrific job.”
