The fish are long gone, so City Council Speaker Christine Quinn wants to turn the vacated Fulton Fish Market into a food market like Seattle’s legendary Pike’s Place.

“Our market would be a destination for residents and tourists of every income,” Quinn said yesterday.

The Fulton market has moved to The Bronx.

She noted that Pike’s Place is home to nearly 200 businesses, generates 5,000 jobs, and attracts between 8 million and 10 million visitors a year.
