NJ Transit riders want a ticket to ride — on another transit system.
The Garden State rail line does a horrible job handling service disruptions, showing up on time and maintaining its trains, according to a scathing riders’ survey released yesterday.
Rail riders gave NJ Transit a measly 4.2 out of 10 for its overall performance, even worse than the pitiful 4.5 ranking it got in April.
“I’d probably give it a 3,” said Dave Walters, 36, who commutes to Penn Station from Milburn NJ.
“Their communication is awful. When there is a delay, there is hardly ever an explanation.”
The survey of almost 19,000 NJ Transit customers was conducted in August — the same month that two rush-hour derailments wreaked havoc throughout the system.
