MAHWAH, NJ — A college student from Rockland County has died days after a car crash in New Jersey.

Twenty-two-year-old Jacob Halle of New City was a political science major at Ramapo College.

Police say Halle never regained consciousness after a head-on collision between his car and an SUV in Mahwah on Monday. He died Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Regional medical Center.

Police Chief James Batelli tells The Record newspaper police don’t believe excessive speed was a factor in the crash.

The driver of the SUV sustained minor injuries.
