A challenger to Harlem Rep. Charles Rangel’s re-election bid yesterday accused the congressman of trying to knock him off the ballot in the June 26 Democratic primary.

Clyde Williams claimed two individuals with ties to Rangel filed challenges to his petitions with the Board of Elections. A Rangel spokesman declined to comment.

Harlem residents Jerry Washington II and Desiree Harris filed challenges to the petitions of all three African-American candidates running against Rangel.
