Rep. Charles Rangel formally announced his re-election campaign yesterday surrounded by a host of elected officials, including Gov. Paterson.

Rangel — who used the occasion to compare Wall Street bankers to terrorists — relinquished his Ways and Means Committee chairmanship in March after being admonished by a congressional ethics panel for taking corporate trips to the Caribbean in violation of House rules.
