Rape-slay to jury
A Queens prosecutor accused a rape suspect of killing his alleged victim in a trade of “her life for his freedom,” as the murder case of Hemant Megnath was handed over to the jury yesterday.
“His intent was to eliminate her as a witness,” Brad Leventhal told jurors.
Megnath has been charged with slashing the throat of 20-year-old Natasha Ramen as she left her Hollis home in March 2007.
