The damage done to a young girl and her family by a sick, twisted relative was painfully evident in a Queens courtroom yesterday when the uncle was sentenced to 15 years in prison for raping his 16-year-old niece.

“I trusted you! How could you do this to me?” the victim, now 18, lashed out at her uncle — who is also her godfather.

“Please, Judge, please give him the maximum,” she pleaded.

Joseph Sweeney, 38, a married father of two young children, was convicted in March for getting his niece drunk and raping her in his Astoria home on Aug. 15, 2009.

The scared teen kept the horrifying secret for months until her mother discovered Facebook messages between her brother-in-law and daughter, in which the uncle sent apologetic messages.

A jury found Sweeney guilty of rape, criminal sex act and endangering the welfare of a child.

“This child has suffered terribly,” said Queens Supreme Court Justice Richard Buchter.
