Now it’s the cops who are out in the cold.

Police grilling weather gal Heidi Jones never read Miranda rights to her before she allegedly admitted concocting a ridiculous sexual-assault story, prosecutors said yesterday.

But the DA insisted that Jones isn’t the victim of a snow job and that her incriminating statements should be admitted into evidence.

The former WABC/Channel 7 weather babe wasn’t a suspect or under arrest when she spilled her guts to cops, saying she lied when she told cops that a Hispanic man tried to rape her in Central Park, prosecutors said.

“The defendant, at the time her statements were given, gave her statements in the context of a criminal investigation she initiated,” wrote Assistant DA Shanda Strain in documents made public yesterday.

“Despite defendant’s assertion to the contrary, Miranda warnings were not required, and the statement taken by the defendant was lawfully obtained.”

The issue is set to be argued at a hearing on June 20.

Jones has been charged with filing a false police report, which could land her a year behind bars if convicted.

She has pleaded not guilty.

Jones’ lawyer, Paul Callan, claimed the DA’s admission is proof Jones was bullied into making incriminating statements.

“That is a clear-cut violation of her constitutional rights,” Callan said.
