Spring is coming early this year.
Even though the equinox is still two weeks away, unseasonably warm weather will make it feel distinctly springlike by the middle of the week, with forecasters predicting record-breaking highs.
The mercury will begin its upward climb Tuesday, reaching 64 degrees.
By Wednesday, temps are expected to hit 71 degrees — breaking the 16-year-record for the warmest March 9 by two degrees.
“It’s going to feel great — not humid, a light breeze,” said senior AccuWeather meteorlogist Tom Kines.
It will be even warmer Thursday, when the mercury climbs to 74, tying a decade-old record.
There is the possibility for some rain Thursday, but it won’t stick around.
“If we do get any rain, it will be a quick spring shower,” Kines said.
The warm weather will continue Friday with a high of 69.
Temperatures are expected to stay above average through next week, but drop back down into the mid- to high-50s.
