The murder case against a Guyanese man accused of sexually assaulting and killing a 92-year-old “cat lady” is headed for a Queens grand jury, prosecutors said Wednesday.

Reeaz Khan, 21, wasn’t present at his scheduled court appearance in Queens criminal court but his attorney, Jonathan Latimer, told Judge Runa DiBiase that his client would not be testifying before the grand jury panel.

Khan is charged with murder and sexual abuse in the Jan. 6 attack of Maria Fuentes at Liberty Avenue and 127th Street in Richmond Hill. He is being held without bail.

DiBiase set Khan’s next court date for Feb. 4, by which time prosecutors hope to have secured an indictment against him.

Police said Khan, an illegal immigrant from Guyana, came up behind his elderly victim, threw her to the ground and sexually assaulted her, then left her lying on the sidewalk.

He later bizarrely claimed that he found the elderly victim lying on the street and attempted to help her — but his pants fell down and his genitals came in contact with hers.

Latimer declined to comment as he left court on Wednesday.
