ALBANY — A 5-pound, 14-ounce beauty reeled in last month in the lower Adirondacks is the biggest brook trout ever caught in the state, conservations officials confirmed yesterday.
William Altman’s May 5 catch in Hamilton County broke the record by six ounces. It had been stocked as a fingerling by the state’s Rome Fish Hatchery.
