Police are investigating after a priest at a Brooklyn church found a religious statue smashed on the sidewalk, authorities said.

As shown on surveillance video, the suspects stood on platforms supporting the statues in front of Our Lady of Consolation Roman Catholic Church on Metropolitan Avenue in Williamsburg — one of them with his hands together in a prayer position.

Another man attempted to climb up to the higher platform supporting another statue, but he failed –sending the angel statue crashing to the pavement.

The Rev. Wieslaw Strzadlal found the angel statue in several pieces in front of the church sometime after midnight Sunday.

Strzadlal told cops he saw a group of about six men down the block shortly after finding the vandalized icon.

Police are working to obtain surveillance footage in the hopes of identifying a suspect or suspects.
