A Manhattan dog owner jumped into the frigid Hudson yesterday to save her beloved pooch after it suddenly decided to take a dip — and amazingly, both survived unharmed.

The tale unfolded at 3 p.m. as Molly Pfeiffer was strolling with her sandy-colored Wheaten Terrier mix, named Boogie, along a deserted pier at 14th Street.

“She was walking and playing with the dog,” said boyfriend Ryan O’Connell.

Suddenly, Boogie took a nosedive into the river.

“The dog doesn’t swim, so I don’t know why she let her jump in — Boogie’s not good in the water,” said O’Connell, 43. “But Boogie jumped. And my girlfriend jumped in after her.”

Amazingly, “she was then able to get herself and her dog out of the water” within minutes, apparently scrambling up the side of the pier, he said.

Authorities said NYPD Harbor Unit members also helped the woman.

Pfeiffer, who had left her cellphone on the pier, then frantically called O’Connell, he said.

“She was freezing and panicked . . . I’m furious with her. I don’t know what happened,” the boyfriend said before walking the unruffled Boogie back to their nearby home and heading to Beth Israel Hospital to check on his girlfriend.

“She was shivering so bad,” he said of his girlfriend, although adding that “she’s fine” and was being taken to the hospital only as a precaution against hypothermia. The water was around 40 degrees at the time.
