Dozens of New Yorkers who have suffered horrendous living conditions in the city’s public-housing complexes — including exposure to toxic mold and lead paint — will crowd into a downtown Manhattan courtroom Wednesday to air their grievances before a judge.

Manhattan federal Judge William Pauley scheduled the hearing to help him decide whether to OK the feds’ plans to clean up the city’s beleaguered Housing Authority.

Members of the public were invited to the hearing to give their accounts. More than a hundred residents and other groups have asked to speak.
