The first New York City patient to undergo testing for the coronavirus does not have the deadly ailment, officials announced Tuesday.

Test results from the patient, which were sent to the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, came back negative, according to the city’s Health Department.

The unidentified 40-year-old fell ill after returning from a trip to China and was being treated at Bellevue Hospital.

“We’re relieved to hear that the person in question does not have the novel coronavirus,” Mayor Bill de Blasio said in a statement.

“I can’t say this enough: if you have the symptoms and recent travel history, please see your health provider immediately,” he added.

Results are still pending for two other city patients undergoing testing for the coronavirus.

The two patients, both over 60 years old, recently returned from China and developed “fever and cough or shortness of breath without another common cause,” according to the city Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

The unidentified patients are in stable condition at Flushing Hospital Medical Center.

The virus has killed 425 people in China and infected more than 20,000 others.
