Revelers packed Times Square to ring in a new decade Tuesday evening — cheering in joy as the iconic ball dropped and a giant “2020” neon sign lit up the crossways of the world.

People traveled from across the country to usher in the new decade, some waiting in the square for hours to be a part of the celebration.

“I graduate college this year … it’s 2020 I couldn’t think of a better time to come down to Times Square,” said 21-year-old Matthew Berry, who traveled from Philadelphia to witness the scene.

“It’s a fun experience and once in a lifetime. For the decade. It’s all about the double digits — 2020,” added his girlfriend, 22-year-old Jules Mangin.

David Webber, of New Orleans, was celebrating his 30th birthday on Tuesday and said he waited in Times Square all day to see the ball drop for the first time in his life.

“This was on the bucket list,” Webber said. “Every year you watch this on TV.”
