ALBANY — It’s official! Nassau County District Attorney Kathleen Rice will
seek the Democratic nomination for attorney general if — as is certain — AG Andrew Cuomo runs for governor.

That was the word a few minutes ago from Rice’s communications director, Eric Phillips, who was making the rounds of the Capitol in advance of Rice’s arrival for the big Black and Puerto Rican Caucus weekend, that starts this afternoon.

“She’s going to run,” said Phillips.

Rice, who is likely to face a crowded Democratic field of would-be Cuomo replacements, reported last month having a substantial $2.4 million campaign warchest.
