It’s Match.com for the taxi-hailing set.

A new iPhone app, “Weeels,” created by a group of recent Harvard grads, uses social networking to provide New Yorkers with shared cabs on demand.

The goal: to make transportation cheaper and maybe more fun by pairing up New Yorkers.

“It’s a do-it-yourself mass-transit system that saves money and energy,” said David Mahfouda, 27, founder of Weeels.
