A Rikers correction officer was busted yesterday for allegedly trying to cover up a series of misdeeds, including leaving his post to visit a female colleague and throwing a punch at an inmate, damaging the man’s eye, officials said.

Victor Rodman, 49, of Bellport, LI, was charged with assault, falsifying records and misconduct for the July 2009 incident. Rikers employee Michelle Hubert, 43, was also charged with falsifying records related to the incident.

Rodman left his post to visit Hubert, authorities said. When a fight broke out between inmates, he allegedly threw a punch that left an inmate with permanent vision loss in one eye.
