A formers Rikers Island guard will spend six years in prison for running a fight club, in which teen gangs beat fellow inmates to maintain order.

Lloyd Nicholson, 37, was sentenced yesterday in Bronx Supreme Court for ordering six inmates to beat two others — leaving one teen with a collapsed lung — at Rikers in 2007.

Nicholson was arrested and suspended in February 2008, but the fight club, which they dubbed “The Program,” continued until October, when 18-year-old Christopher Robinson died from one of its gang beatings, prosecutors said.

Three guards and 12 inmates await trial on charges connected to Robinson’s death.

In exchange for meting out guards’ punishment, favored gangs roamed the prison, extorted commissary money and stole personal property.
