A Rikers Island correction officer was arrested for viciously assaulting his wife in front of their young child, authorities said yesterday.

Mohammad Ali, 43 of Woodside, Queens, was taken into custody Monday after he allegedly dragged his wife across the living-room floor and repeatedly punched her in the face with their 9-year-old daughter nearby, according to court papers.

Ali, who has worked at the city lock-up for seven years, was charged with assault, endangering the welfare of a child and harassment.
