His dinner bit back.
A Rikers Island inmate says he chomped down on a “veal sandwhich [sic]” and found a tooth inside.
Baron Hillman, who was arrested in the Bronx in May on a felony robbery charge, claims in a lawsuit he was gobbling up the evening meal on July 5 when he “experienced a crunching sound and sensation. After a closer inspection I learned that what I bit down on was appearantly [sic] an animal canine tooth of some breed or species.”
The canine shattered his wisdom tooth, Hillman says in his Manhattan Federal Court lawsuit.
Hillman was allegedly refused medical attention. He wants $600,000 in damages and for Rikers to “change the food distributors.”
Correction Commissioner Joseph Ponte “cares deeply about the health and well-being of all inmates,” the department said in a statement.
