Manhattan prosecutors yesterday dropped all charges against a pro basketball player accused of abusing a woman at The Ritz-Carlton hotel.

Michael Haynes, 29, who most recently played for Ludwigsburg in Germany, spent a night in jail before learning the charges were dropped.

“The people cannot prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt,” Assistant District Attorney Jennifer Gaffney said in court.

Haynes was accused of holding a woman down during the 5 a.m. incident at the Central Park South hotel, while his friend, a Nike marketing professional, performed a sex act on her.

Haynes has been entirely cleared, and the charges against his friend, Brandyn Cooper, 27, were reduced to the lowest level of felony possible for nonconsensual oral sexual contact. Cooper was freed without bail.

The 23-year-old victim yesterday maintained her version of events, saying: “I want them to go to jail.”.
