Rival takes paunch at NJ gov
Who you calling fat?
Chris Christie yesterday weighed in on a campaign ad from New Jersey Gov. Jon Corzine that ridiculed the GOP challenger’s girth.
“He never complained about my weight when I was putting all those people in jail,” said the ex-US attorney.
Christie denounced the ad, which showed the chubby challenger exiting a car and said he was “throwing his weight around” to dodge traffic tickets.
“Could you imagine what the discussion was around the Corzine conference table when they came up with that one?” Christie said.
“The real shocking part is that someone who tries to call himself a leader . . . said, ‘Green-light that baby. Let’s go.’ ”
Corzine defended the ad, telling the Star-Ledger’s editorial board on Thursday, “I’m not making fun . . . I don’t think the issue is about weight.”
