Two days after Anthony Weiner’s latest cyber sex scandal, the wife of mayoral rival Bill Thompson hit the campaign trail and spoke glowingly of her husband as a “good man” who is devoted to public service.

“A woman said you’re just saying Bill’s a good man because you’re married to him,” Elsie McCabe Thompson told reporters after visiting a jobs center for gay black youths in downtown Brooklyn.

“I said, ‘No, no.’ I knew Bill was a good man before I asked him out, and the only reason we are married is because I asked him out. And he initially said no.”
