A robber bound a West Village restaurant employee with duct tape, then took off with $8,000 cash on Friday, cops said Saturday.
The thief barged into the basement office of the Knickerbocker Grill on University Place around 1 a.m. Friday.
Once inside, he walked up to the 62-year-old manager — who had been counting money — and simulated a firearm.
Then he wrapped the tape around the manager’s ankles and wrists and also placed a plastic bag over the victim’s head, according to law enforcement sources.
He grabbed the wad of cash before bolting from the eatery.
He was last seen wearing a black jacket, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black pants, gray sneakers and a black backpack.
