The woman was found wedged between the couch and the bed, and the man was lying face-up on the bed, the sources said.

It was unclear how long they had been there.

The circumstances surrounding the mother and son’s deaths were not immediately known.

Their names were not released, pending family notification.

The city medical examiner’s office will make an official ruling on the cause of death, police said.
