Five teens are behind a string of over a half-dozen Midtown robberies and one stabbing — of an inflatable football player, police said.
The youths stole cash and cellphones from different restaurants and entertainment venues in seven incidents between Sept. 25 and Oct. 21.
The suspects waved a knife at employees who confronted them in two of the incidents, police said.
In an Oct. 14 incident, one even stabbed the giant inflatable at the Mean Fiddler Irish sports bar on West 47th Street off 8th Avenue, threatening a 22-year-old employee who told the hooligans to get lost after they asked patrons for money, police said.
At least three were caught on security cameras in an Oct. 17 robbery of Ageha Sushi Restaurant on 9th Avenue near 52nd street, according to cops. Video released by police shows four of the young men working in concert. While some distracted employees, others grabbed a phone from the hostess’ counter.
When one of the female employees tried to get her phone back, a boy bent her fingers and shoved her away. The suspects ran off with the phone and $25 in cash.
Cops are asking for the public’s help nabbing the ne’er-do-wells and released images of the suspects late Tuesday.
No arrests had been made in the case as of Wednesday morning.
