A sanitation worker was killed in a motorcycle accident yesterday in Queens, police sources said.

Daniel Nieves, 32, was riding his black 2011 Suzuki motorcycle in Astoria on Vernon Boulevard when he drove into a tree on 31st Avenue shortly before 10 p.m., according to cops.

EMS rushed him to Cornell Hospital, but he could not be saved.

Nieves worked for the Sanitation department and was a Queens resident who lived in Ridgewood.
