Video of an aggressive thief who followed a woman into her Greenwich Village apartment building and robbed her in the lobby was released Sunday by police.

The 30-second video shows the terrifying moment when the man pushed himself into the 32-year-old victim as she opened the door to her apartment near Grove and Bedford Streets Saturdayat 11 p.m., police said.

The victim’s face is blurred in the video to protect her identity, but the robber is seen pushing her up against the wall, grabbing a chunk of the back of her hair and speaking menacingly into her ear.

Several seconds into the crime, two people carrying grocery bags appear at the door. The video shows the thief turning at them to glare – and the would-be helpers suddenly backing away in fear.

Cops say the unidentified suspect grabbed the woman’s hand bag before fleeing eastbound on Grove Street towards 7th Avenue.

The bag was later thrown on the ground and recovered with all its contents.

There were no reported injuries.

The male is described as Black and was last seen wearing a black and gray ski cap with a New York logo, a green jacket, green pants, black boots. He carried a black backpack with gray “Adidas” logo.
