Sen. Charles Schumer held a press conference Sunday outside Penn Station to discuss the recent chaos at the transit hub — and was interrupted by new chaos when a train got stuck on the tracks.

The Senate minority leader was calling for increased training for law enforcement, after a rumor of gunshots April 14 sparked a stampede, when an Amtrak train broke down.

“What’s with all these sirens?” Schumer asked as several fire trucks wailed in the background.

Told there was a disabled train, Schumer said, “What? Here?”

A nearby Amtrak police captain soon informed the senator there were no injuries and everything was under control, and Schumer quickly wrapped things up and left.
