A Los Angeles family endured an unwanted roommate’s intrusion, caught on camera, earlier this week.

A scruffy man with a red shirt and jacket broke-in and ogled a family’s home in an apartment complex located in Leimert Park, according to KTLA. Leimert Park is in South Los Angeles.

Cameras caught the man shuffling around the apartment after climbing through an open window.

The family told KTLA that the man, who had a beard and long hair, did not appear to steal anything. It’s unclear why he entered the apartment.

“He came to the window, pulled the screen off, lifted up the window, climbed over my couch and he was walking around,” Pazz Johnson told KTLA. “I don’t know what he was doing, but it’s frightening.”

He did, however, spread the family’s remote controls on the couch. It’s also not clear what he was considering watching. He then unlocked the door and walked out.

The unlatching of the door awoke the family, who had left the window he climbed through open for airflow. They also said their daughter sometimes sleeps on the couch the man climbed over.

The Los Angeles Police Department is investigating the incident, which features a clear view of the man’s face.

The Johnson family is frightened from the break-in.

“It’s definitely frightening and makes you rethink some things,” Pazz said.

A neighbor also thought the incident felt bizarre.

“That really scares me,” neighbor Sylva Cox told KTLA. “The fact that he just came in and left. It’s so weird.”

A distinct lesson from the break-in? The family won’t forget to lock their windows.

“I know I won’t leave the windows open anymore, that’s guaranteed,” Gregory added.
