An elderly man died yesterday in a horrific accident at a Brooklyn scrap metal business, cops said.

The 75-year-old man — whose name is being withheld pending family notification — was crushed to death at about 3 p.m. when a forklift pinned him against a trash compactor at Plakos Scrap Processing on 796 E. 95th St. in Canarsie, cops said.

The man, who was attempting to remove metal from the compactor at the time, suffered severe body trauma when he was struck by the forklift — operated by a 46-year-old employee of the business. He was pronounced dead at Brookdale Hospital.

No criminality is suspected.
