Sure, the Navy SEALs are heroes — but they’re not as cute as Manhattan’s very own seal.
This adorable baby decided to take a break on the shore of the Hudson near Dyckman Street in Inwood, lounging around to the delight of New Yorkers who generally don’t think of their hometown as where the wild things are.
The gray seal is probably less than a year old, said Robert DiGiovanni, the director of The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation.
Responders from his office were called out to check on the seal to make sure he was OK.
They gave the animal a clean bill of health and decided to let him hang around. They will continue to monitor him.
