What tree problem?

Beatles scion Sean Lennon issued a blanket denial in response to legal claims by his neighbors — the parents of actress Marisa Tomei — that a 24-inch-diameter, 60-foot-tall, rotting ailanthus tree on his property is invading their Greenwich Village townhouse.

Lennon, who nearly defaulted on the $10 million suit by filing a late answer, admits to the tree’s existence in the front yard of his West 13th Street home, but denies Gary and Addie Tomei’s allegations that it has cracked their stoop, broken their iron railings and even crept into their basement floor.

If there is a problem with the giant tree, it’s the Tomeis’ own fault because it’s invading their property, not his, the June 15 answer says.

Lennon’s asking the court to toss the suit and he wants the Tomeis to pay his attorney fees.
