A small earthquake rocked parts of New York and New Jersey on Tuesday — the second to be felt in the region in just a matter of days.
The 2.7 magnitude quake was recorded near Hillsdale, New Jersey, just after noon, according to the US Geological Survey.

It wasn’t immediately clear if any injuries or damages had been reported.
An X post from the Empire State Building account said that the Midtown skyscraper was entirely unaffected.
New York City’s emergency management agency warned that tremors could have been felt across the Big Apple and noted authorities were monitoring for impacts.
The latest earth-rattling comes after a magnitude 3.0 quake struck in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, on Saturday night.

It comes, too, after six minor quakes shook the Garden State’s Morris County in a single day – ranging from a magnitude 0.7 to 2.0 – late last month.
New Jersey is home to the Ramapo fault, which is the longest in the Northeast and stretches down to Pennsylvania.
