A man was fatally hit by a train in Manhattan’s Astor Place subway station Monday — the second time in as many days someone was struck there, authorities said.
Monday’s victim was already on the roadbed in the East Village station when a southbound No. 6 train ran over him around 3 p.m., cops said. He was declared dead at the scene.
It was not immediately clear how the victim ended up in the tracks, police said.
The incident occurred a day after a man in his 30s was hit — also by a No. 6 train — at the same station. The victim injured his arm and was taken to Bellevue Hospital to be treated. It’s not clear how he became struck, either.
