A security guard was fatally crushed by an elevator at JFK Airport, law enforcement sources said Wednesday.

Dillon Jobe, 40, was working at a Lufthansa cargo building at the Queens airport around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday when an elevator came down on top of him, sources said.

Jobe was rushed to Jamaica Hospital in respiratory arrest and later died.

It was not immediately clear how he ended up in the elevator shaft.

The Port Authority offered condolences to the family of the victim in a written statement.

“All workplace fatalities are tragedies and the agency of course will assist all parties in any way possible during the investigation of this sad event,” the statement said. “The US Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration and the Port Authority Police Department are currently investigating this accident.”
