The Rikers Island captain convicted of refusing to help an inmate who died after swallowing a toxic ball of soap delayed his sentencing Thursday by claiming his defense attorney was no good.
Terrence Pendergrass, 51, faced up to 10 years for the 2012 death of mentally ill inmate Jason Echevarria, 25. Federal judge Ronnie Abrams pushed back his sentencing.
