Seven people were injured, two of them critically, in a Bronx apartment building fire Friday afternoon, authorities said.

The blaze broke out on the third floor of the six-story building on Gouverneur Avenue near Sedgwick Avenue just before 5 p.m.

About 100 smoke-eaters were able to put out out the two-alarm fire after about 90 minutes, said FDNY Deputy Chief Jay Jonas.

Officials said a total of seven residents were taken to Jacobi Hospital for smoke inhalation.

Their names were withheld pending notification of their relatives.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
