Five people were injured, two seriously, after multiple cars crashed on a Brooklyn highway Monday afternoon, authorities said.

The collision occurred on the Belt Parkway near Knapp Street in Sheepshead Bay around 3:26 p.m., FDNY officials said.

Two people are in serious condition, while three others suffered only minor injuries. EMS are currently transporting victims to Lutheran Hospital, according to FDNY officials.

It remains unclear what caused the accident.
