The severed head of a goat surrounded by four chicken heads has been discovered in a suburban New York City park.
Police in the Westchester County city of New Rochelle say the discovery was made by a woman and children at Glenwood Lake Park.
Police Capt. Joseph Schaller says the heads were resting on a layer of what appeared to be cornmeal inside an aluminum pan. They were found on Friday.
The captain says it’s likely the animal parts were used for some kind of ritual.
Schaller says he doesn’t know if the incident is connected to the discovery of two decapitated sheep in Ward Acres Park on Nov. 7.
