A 27-year-old woman was sexually assaulted in an Upper West Side apartment building, police said yesterday.

The suspect pounced on the victim in the elevator of an Amsterdam Avenue building at about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday, police added.

The woman managed to flee once the doors opened.

Investigators believe she didn’t know her attacker.
