Rep. Bob Turner (R-Qns./Bklyn.) yesterday urged Village Voice Media to shut down its Backpage.com Web site, which has come under fire for allegedly running ads allowing pimps to peddle child prostitutes.

Turner appeared in front of the Voice’s Greenwich Village office to protest the ads.

“The sex trafficking of young children . . . on the site are too dangerous to ignore,” he said.
